The MOGAM Institute for Biomedical Research (MIBR) is the Korea’s first privately owned non-profit research institute that established in 1984. MIBR has made significant contributions to Korea’s biomedical industry by successfully producing vaccines, diagnostic kits, and important recombinant proteins. MIBR led to the development of the third in the world Hepatitis B vaccine, the first Epidemic hemorrhagic fever vaccine, and the second chickenpox vaccine.
MIBR highly appreciated the contribution of prof. Sun Kim to the development of bioinformatics and artificial intelligence while serving as the chairman of the Artificial Intelligence Society.
Prof. Sun Kim said, “The development of new artificial intelligence drugs is a very challenging task that converges various technologies such as life science, computer science, and artificial intelligence.”
A joint research agreement has also been signed between MIBR and Seoul National University AI Research Institute to establish a new drug research platform. The platform is expected to advance the innovation of new drugs and research of genome, mRNA, and rare disease.
